Neu-Life FACT Smack the Wall

On October 3rd, Neu-Life FACT members participated in the Smack the Wall FACTivism. Each teen answered the following questions on post-it notes; "Why is living tobacco free important to you?" and "What characteristics/features about yourself do you love?". The teens shared these post-it notes with the group and then smacked them on to the banner under "So I can Live addiction free" and "So I always look this good". The teens were also instructed to draw a pair of sealed lips and on the last posted note they were to write their personal experience with tobacco, or they had the option to look up a fact on the negative side effects of tobacco. The lips were placed on the banner under "because tobacco is deadly" as a commitment to living tobacco and smoke free. The last posted to note was shared out and posted under "Since I've seen the damage."

The Smack the Wall FACTivism provides the opportunity to share your reason for living tobacco-free. It's an interactive banner that encourages community members to share their reasons. For some, they stay tobacco-free for their health. Others might share that the devastating impacts tobacco and nicotine have had on their loved ones.

The FACT movement is a youth-driven movement of Wisconsin youth spreading the truth about tobacco, including vapes. FACT aims to prevent and stop youth tobacco use through education. FACT is funded by the Commerical Tobacco Prevention & Treatment Program, organized by local tobacco alliances, and managed by the American Lung Assocation.
