Sweet Adventures with Beloit Memorial High School FACT and Turner Middle & High School

In February Youth2Youth 4 Change created a memorable opportunity for the FACT groups by hosting a special event at the local Culver's, for "Scoopie Night". Youth2Youth 4 Change is a coalition of youth and adults that aim to create a drug free community, reduce substance abuse among youth, and promote healthy lifestyles through education and advocacy.

They also had both middle and high school students come together to spread an important message: "There's Nothing Sweet About Tobacco." During the event, students labeled hundreds of pieces of candy with tobacco facts, combing fun with spreading the truth. The candy was then handed out at local events, including the Mental Health Fair, ensuring that their messages reached a wide audience. Events like these help raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco. The group creatively blended a fun treat with an essential message.

These FACT groups continue to demonstrate the power of creative activism, proving that even small actions, like labeling candy, can have a significant impact on spreading awareness. FACT groups continue to fight tobacco use and share important facts with their communities, working togeter to promote healthier choices for all.
