Duck Scavenger Hunt
FACT groups all across Wisconsin are playing this new game, of hiding rubber ducks! The ducks will include a QR code and once found and scanned, they are to be re-hidden for someone else to find.
The idea comes from an intern at the Health Department in Franklin. The ducks were originally hidden across the UW-La Crosse campus as a public health related scavenger hunt. This event was so successful that the ducks made their way to Franklin! The Franklin FACT group decided the “Duck Scavenger Hunt” would be great for addressing Vaping Prevention. The high school FACT group did this duck scavenger hunt for the entire month of November to highlight Lung Cancer Awareness Month. The ducks are attached to a tag that with a QR code that leads to a short “quiz” that educates youth on the harmful effects of vaping.
Check out this news update from WRAMS FACT, where they participated in “Vapes are tricks, not treats” as well as the duck hiding FACTivism! The ducks were hidden after school and during 7th and 8th grade lunches! Where will the ducks go next?
