WRAMS FACT Mental Health Wellness Initiative

In celebration of Valentine's Day, the Wisconsin Rapids Middle School FACT group hosted a Mental Health Matters Initiative to help students focus on healthy ways to cope with stress. The event encouraged students to share positive strategies for managing stress and anxiety, with the chance to win a Wellness Kit or a gift card to Starbucks. The initiative was a huge success, bringing both fun and awareness to mental health during the holiday.

Students participated by writing down their personal methods for dealing with stress, such as dancing or making art. For each contribution, participants received a treat along with a ticket for a chance to win one of the prizes! This was a great way to open the conversation about mental health and reaching for healthy alternatives instead of vaping or nicotine.

This initiative was more than just a fun Valentine's Day activity, it was part of the groups ongoing commitment to raise awareness about mental health and encourage their peers to focus on mindfulness. The wellness kits included items like stress balls and fidget toys, which are tools designed to help students maintain their mental well-being, especially in times where they may want to reach for nicotine instead of a healthy alternative. The WRAMS FACT group hopes to continue these initiatives and keep the conversation open about mental wellness.
